2020 is over and we are ready to make some new health goals. We may have some big goals this year such as lose a certain amount of weight or maybe start a new healthy habit. Setting goals can help you get on the right track to success.
- Start with small goals. Write down a small realistic goal for this week. Then change and modify your small goals each week. Before you know it, your small goals will add up to something big!
- Write down your goal somewhere you will see it every day (sticky note on your work laptop), set a reminder (on your work calendar or phone), and/or tell someone about it. Make your goal visible so you don’t forget it. Tell family, friends, or co-workers to ask about it each time you talk, this support will keep you motivated!
- Didn’t meet your weekly goal? Don’t worry, it happens. Ask yourself, why did I not meet my goals this week? Tweak, change, or scale back on your goal to set yourself up for a win the next week.
