Goals Setting Tips

2020 is over and we are ready to make some new health goals. We may have some big goals this year such as lose a certain amount of weight or maybe start a new healthy habit. Setting goals can help you get on the right track to success.

  1. Start with small goals. Write down a small realistic goal for this week. Then change and modify your small goals each week. Before you know it, your small goals will add up to something big!
  2. Write down your goal somewhere you will see it every day (sticky note on your work laptop), set a reminder (on your work calendar or phone), and/or tell someone about it. Make your goal visible so you don’t forget it. Tell family, friends, or co-workers to ask about it each time you talk, this support will keep you motivated!
  3. Didn’t meet your weekly goal? Don’t worry, it happens. Ask yourself, why did I not meet my goals this week? Tweak, change, or scale back on your goal to set yourself up for a win the next week.
