Rachel’s Member of the Month nomination is long overdue. 3 years ago, she signed up for personal training a couple of times a week and is now exercising every day! She hasn’t let the pandemic get in her way, finding alternating ways to exercise and continuing to keep up with her daily step count. Her determination and positive attitude have helped push her towards accomplishing her fitness goals. Keep it the great work!
What motivates you to get to the gym every day?
I don’t always make it to the gym but I try and find something active to do each day, whether it be a bike ride, pilates, kayaking, or walking with my dogs.
What do you like most about the fitness center?
The personal training sessions – I love the convenience, accountability, and variety of exercises Jessica and Kristen come up with. I’ve really been enjoying doing virtual personal training these past few months and finding things around the house I can use as weights.
What is your favorite exercise?
Lately I’ve been doing a lot of bike riding, but my favorites are pilates and yoga!
Here are some fun facts about Rachel!
- I tried kayaking for the first time last summer and loved it so much my husband and I bought inflatable kayaks.
- I have two black labs who love going on long walks.
- Throughout this stay at home order, I challenged myself to walk at least 12k steps a day and most days I exceeded that goal.
