Everyone give a warm welcome to our new fitness specialist, Joel! Here is a little about Joel in his own words: “I have been training/coaching for over 19 years. I started out as a football coach way back in 2002. From there, I got a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Murray State University (GO Racers!). Then shortly after I got my degree I went out and got my ACE personal training certification. Just last year I added an ACE behavior change specialist certification. Since the start of my career, I have done everything I can to learn and grow and be a better trainer/coach so I can help anyone and everyone accomplish their goals no matter how big or how small. What is your favorite exercise? I love either a wood chop or hay bailer. It’s a fun motion to get some stress out and I really enjoy the efficiency of working every muscle in my body at the same time! What do you enjoy doing for fun outside of work? I enjoy exercise(of course), hiking, camping, movies, and most sports. I also just enjoy learning about new things. List a few fun facts about you, interests, or hobbies that you enjoy. 1. Every summer I go to Chalk Art Festival in Larimer Square and the hot air balloon launch in Fredrick. 2. I am originally from Southern Illinois and my home town only has one stoplight and a total population of around 3,000 people; Cherry Creek has more students enrolled in just their high school.
