Vickie is one of our dedicated group exercise members. She can be seen adding on an extra weight plate in SPARTA or showing off her moves in a Zumba class. No matter what life throws at her she doesn’t give up on her fitness. Great job Vickie, keep up the good work!
What motivates you to get to the gym everyday?
I have 4 kids and 3 ½ grandchildren (one is in the oven). My goal is to live a long and healthy life and to enjoy as many milestones as I possibly can with my family. Having recently gone through a life changing event it really forced me to look at myself and ask, “Am I happy with who I am?” For the most part the answer is yes, but when I looked in the mirror and realized how out of shape I was I knew I had to make some changes (not to mention getting older has it’s own issues and being out of shape does not help). The energy that I have from working out has been amazing. I now have the drive and confidence to get out of the house a try things I have never done before.
Do you have any tips for other members?
I am not a great motivator for myself if I try to work out in the gym by myself, which is why I LOVE the classes, the variety is amazing and I get a great workout.
What is your favorite exercise?
Hard to choose but if I have to pick one it would be sit-up’s because I like to work on my mid-section (also known as my trouble area).
